In Trouble

Scary things happen. Close calls in the car, going too fast on skis, roller blades, or mountain bikes, can whip up the adrenalin.

This vessel has her mainsail reefed (made smaller for less wind resistance). She is rolling to the side from a huge wave and flying a spinnaker that could haul her over in seconds, once it fills with water. Wanting you to feel the energy of helpless, exposed and vulnerable.

My first race as skipper in a 19 foot Lighting on Long Island Sound had me in this predicament. In my case it was inexperience.
